Tasting Notes

Nose This year’s 12-year-old cask strength kicks off with notes of marzipan, smoked meats, and a smokiness akin to burnt matches.

Palate The smoky, earthy note continues on the palate and a nuttiness is introduced in notes of pistachios. Notes of caramelised brown sugar, prunes and custard round out this dram.

Finish A sea salt note emerges in the finish along with notes of red apple skin.

Located in Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula which was once home to more than 30 working distilleries but currently down to just three, Springbank continues to use very traditional methods, with 100% of the production process carried out on site.
