    Tasting Notes

    Scallywag - The White Guard

Nose: A richly spiced character woven into delicious vanilla.

Taste: Layer upon layers of sweet stewed fruit and dark chocolate fused with nutmeg and cinnammon, much of which can be attributed to years slumbering in Spanish sherry butts.

Finish: A burst of zesty orange with fresh ginger ,cocoa and rich fruitcake.

    --------

Timorous Beastie - The Black Guard

Nose: Initially sweet, then warming to floral, light barley, and honeyed spicy notes.

Taste: Opens in a spicy style with fructiferous notes of raisin and a sugary fudge character.

Finish: Subtle yet sweet with a real oaky flavour, hints of milky cereal and a late meringue.

Established in 1948, Douglas Laing is a proudly independent, family owned Scotch Whisky business in its third generation. Over 70 years of heritage have gone in to refine their processes, and deliver Whisky that is consistently exceptional in its offering.

Abiding to the philosophy of presenting Whisky as the Distiller intended, they add nothing and take nothing away from the spirit, enabling Whisky lovers around the world to come as close as they possibly can to sampling a dram straight from the Cask.
